PHP Developer
Full Time Position
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and develop secure, high-availability, scalable web applications
- Write, test, maintain, and troubleshoot source code using standardized processes and development guidelines
- Provide time estimates for assigned development tasks
- Profile and tune database designs for performance and scalability
- Perform code reviews and play an active role in mentoring junior development staff
- Research and learn new technologies
- Acquire new skills through independent study
- Play a direct role in maintenance, technical support, documentation and administration of company-used technologies and code
- Participates in the ongoing development of technical best practices
Required Skills
- Expert level PHP5 skills (at least 4 years of experience developing web applications using the LAMP stack)
- Experience working with SVN/GIT
- Extensive MVC Experience (i.e. Zend Framework, Symfony, etc.)
- Experience with MySQL 5+, Memcache, etc.
- Ability to write and consume SOAP/REST web services
- JavaScript fundamentals and jQuery proficiency
- Understanding of cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility
- Proficient with XHTML and HTML 5
- Experience with 3rd party APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Vertical Response, etc.)
- Working knowledge of advanced code optimization techniques
- Superior English communication skills (written and verbal)
Desired Education and Qualifications
- 4+ years experience developing web applications using the LAMP stack
- Knowledge and experience working with Zend Framework, Netbeans IDE and Subversion a plus
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, software engineering, web development, programming or other relevant subjects (or equivalent work experience)
